So there’s a little something that’s been going around on the news and social media lately and I would like to address it directly for my Patreon Pals and followers. The better to clear up any misinformation.
Starting November 1st, Apple is requiring that Patreon switch to their iOS in-app purchase system or risk being removed from the App Store. As a result, Apple will be applying their 30% App Store fee to all new memberships purchased in the Patreon iOS app.
Because Apple’s gonna Apple.
You can read the full article HERE, but the two most important takeaways are:
1. Your current memberships will NOT increase. This will only apply to new memberships made after November 1st and via the iOS Patreon app.
2. You can bypass this after November by joining Patreon via your web browser.
